Summary: We had an overall enjoyable stay at the cottage. The building itself is charming, clean, and well-kept. We especially loved the cozy fireplace, relaxing sauna, hot tub, and the firepit — all great features that made the evenings feel special.However, there were a few things that didn’t quite match the listing or our expectations. The property is described as being on a lake, but it’s actually a pond. This was disappointing, as two of the activities we were really looking forward to — swimming and fishing — weren’t viable options.Additionally, although I received the door code earlier in the day and arrived at 2 p.m., I was charged an extra 42 for early check-in, even though the cottage was ready and no further cleaning was needed. I paid because I needed to use the washroom, but it felt unnecessarily rigid and a bit petty.One more thing worth mentioning: there is at least one camera on the property facing the front area, which includes the hot tub. While I understand the need for security, it did make me feel a little uncomfortable from a privacy standpoint.All in all, the stay was pleasant, and the cottage has a lot of great features — but it would be helpful if the listing were a bit more transparent about certain aspects.
