You'd have to be a salmon to be closer to the ocean! Our two-bedroom beach house sits directly across the street from the calm ocean waters of Departure Bay. It's fully renovated and on a quiet no-through road with forest behind you and beachfront across from your front yard. From the covered front porch, sit back with a glass of BC wine or craft beer and watch ferries sail into the harbour and float planes take off and land from Newcastle Channel. Catching a glimpse of deer, otters, seals, cranes, geese, and eagles is always a possibility!
While you'll feel far away from the bustle of the city, the cabin is on a short drive from the Departure Bay Ferry terminal (with ferries to and from Vancouver) and is on Departure Bay beach, with its playground and swimming & picnic area. Groceries are four minutes away and the downtown core--with funky eateries, local arts, and live music--is only a ten-minute drive.
