Hoverland is a large waterfront cottage on Big Rideau Lake, set on over 10 acres with extensive shoreline near Portland, Ontario. Ideal for extended families and group gatherings, this newly renovated property offers exceptional space, privacy, and easy access to the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Lakes region.
The property includes two separate three-bedroom cottages, offering a total of six bedrooms, two full kitchens, and two full bathrooms. This layout provides flexibility and comfort for larger groups while still allowing space to spread out.
Inside and out, the cottage is well equipped for a comfortable stay. Wi-Fi, smart TVs, air conditioning, one canoe, two kayaks, a rowboat, and a propane BBQ are all included.
Sleeping arrangements are well suited to large groups. Cottage #1 includes two bedrooms with queen beds and one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, along with a pull-out couch located in the alcove of one of the queen bedrooms. Cottage #2 has one bedroom with a queen bed, and two bedrooms each with a bunk bed featuring a double mattress on the bottom and a single on top. The sunroom includes a double futon and a daybed.
The property sleeps 20+ guests. The large, flat grounds can also accommodate tents, trailers, or campers for additional guests, subject to an extra fee and prior approval.
Hoverland is conveniently located in the town of Portland, roughly halfway between Toronto and Montreal, approximately 45 minutes from the Canada–US border and about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Ottawa. Portland is a popular tourist village with a scenic waterfront, restaurants, groceries, and local events, including the well-known Skate the Lake festival.
The surrounding Rideau Lakes region offers excellent fishing, boating, swimming, and water sports, with the ability to lock through the historic Rideau Canal to explore connected lakes and towns. Nearby communities such as Westport provide additional shopping, dining, golf courses, boat tours, and historic attractions.
