Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: On the day of my arrival, I was told that the original room I booked had a water leak that would take a few days to fix, so the host gave me another apartment (not a shared room) as replacement, for no extra charge. Although it was farther from downtown Montreal than the original, it was wonderful! Easy to find and access, comfortable bed, and good privacy. Less than a 10 minute walk from the metro station. The host was so kind! He was proactive in answering my messages, made sure I received the WiFi information for the new place, and even checked up on me in-person when we happened to be heading out of the building at the same time.

Negative: I was only given 1 roll of toilet paper, which was almost empty. Since I was a solo traveler and only staying for 2 nights, it wasn't a big deal, but I did run out of toilet paper on my final morning. Also, the tops of some of the shelves had not been dusted or cleaned - I set my jacket on the shelf in the closet and it was covered in white dust (appeared to be drywall dust) when I took it down. I also think the presence of some hangers would be beneficial (although I understand this was a last-minute backup option since the other place had a leak).

Summary: I enjoyed Montreal and the apartment's proximity to my destinations was most important to me.
