Welcome to Casa Mia!

Enjoy a newly renovated, very desirable south facing 4 season cottage located in the popular and desirable tourist town of Dorset. Located on Lake of Bays, which is the 4th largest lake in Muskoka with nearly 170 km of shoreline. Casa Mia itself is located directly on popular Lake of Bays but is situated in a beautiful quiet and calm Little Traders Bay’s, boasting little boat traffic and a calm waterfront with no large waves which is ideal for smaller children. The cottage is approximately 2 hour drive north of Toronto, or 3 1/2 hours west of Ottawa, and is accessible by a year round paved road. In addition, the cottage is just a 2-minute drive into downtown Dorset or a 10-15 minute walk.

The property is relatively level up to the fire pit lounge area. From there it then slopes down to the water's edge which is accessible via custom made granite steps which lead to a generous sized seating area and a large 8'x'30' dock with absolutely amazing views. The waterfront affords shallow entry with a sandy bottom with no weeds or rocks which gradually deepens towards the end of the dock. At the end of the dock the depth is approximately 10 feet deep; suitable for swimming.

Enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine down at the dock or on the raised deck of the cottage as the sun sets. At dusk, relax and enjoy the scenery from the custom made granite lounging and fire pit area or roast marshmallows, s’mores and hotdogs and enjoy the beauty of the star-filled night sky.

Casa Mia is in a close-knit cottage community where all the residences respect one another and the environment. With that being said, please be respectful of the neighbors and the environment. We require that you adhere to any fire restrictions imposed by the District of Muskoka (failing to do so will result in a fine by the local fire department). We also request that you keep your noise level to a minimum, especially between the quiet hours of 11PM to 9AM. Noise travels great distances over the water.

Property is limited to 6 adults and 2 children.

The property consists of the main cottage and a bunkie. The main cottage consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. In total, the cottage can sleep maximum 8 people.

The fully stocked modern kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances including fridge, stove top oven with modern induction elements, dishwasher, microwave and water filtration system and ionizer. The kitchen also includes a coffee maker, single serve Bosch Tassimo coffee maker, toaster, blender, kettle, cutlery, plates, glasses, etc. The dining area overlooks the scenic lakefront.

- Lounging area with 8 Muskoka chairs and fire pit (some wood provided).Additional wood can be purchased in town which is 5 minutes away by car. NOTE: Fires are subject to local fire conditions as set out by the Fire Marshal and District of Muskoka during the summer months
- Rear upper deck containing a 6 chair patio set with umbrella (extra chairs provided)
- Lower BBQ area with patio set including 4 chairs
- Large brand new barbeque with propane tank (1 extra propane tank included)

- - LOCATION - -

In town there is a recreational centre which offers a library, summer/afternoon day camp, squash courts, basketball, fitness classes, yoga, Zumba, computers, and much more.

There are 2 restaurants located in Dorset including famous Trading Bay Dining situated directly on the water where you can stop off for lunch or dinner and enjoy dining indoors or the waterfront sights on their waterfront outdoor patio.

Also located in town is the famous Robinson’s General Store, LCBO, a bank, ice cream shop, post office, service centre, marina with public docking and gas facilities. There is also a picnic area and a public boat ramp where you can launch your watercraft into the lake. Fifteen minutes away by boat you can find the diving cliffs which are a popular hang out on a hot summer's day.

A short drive from town is the famous Bigwin Island Golf Club and dining lounge. Minutes from downtown Dorset you can find the Dorset Lookout Tower where you can climb up and enjoy the beautiful and scenic views from 465 feet above Lake of Bays. Be one of the 60,000 people that visit annually to take in the breathtaking views the tower has to offers. If you prefer spectacular lake views, you can take a scenic boat cruise from downtown Dorset on the historic SS Bigwin and take in the sites of beautiful Lake of Bays. Other spectacular places to visit is Algonquin Provincial Park located roughly 35 Km from Dorset. Feel like shopping for the day or miss the big city? Then the town of Huntsville is a scenic drive about 35 minutes away which offers large shopping malls and brand name stores and restaurants such as Walmart, Boston Pizza, and much much more.

This is our home away from home so please treat it with respect as if it were your own. We are happy to share our piece of paradise with like-minded folks. We only ask that you respect our home, the neighbors and the environment.

Do not throw garbage outside into the yard like bottle caps, lids, pop cans etc. All garbage and recyclables are to be removed or taken to the local dump.

Please clean the cottage and property and leave it in the same condition or better than it was upon your arrival.
