Negative: Pool was not clear and prevented any pool use. Despite caretaker’s assurances the pool was clean nobody was prepared to risk swimming in it. Most of the time the bottom was barely visible. Additional information from locals indicated chlorine was not used in this pool. This was affirmed by the ‘owner’/caretaker. My own pool is crystal clear all year (salt water chlorinated). There was no cleaning service apart from a single housekeeper who assisted with cleaning on one occasion but works elsewhere so could not take up this job at other times. There was also no linen service so we had to arrange washing sheets and towels at a local laundromat. (We would often pay extra for this service but the option was not available). The ‘owner’ acted as the caretaker and this is extremely unusual in our experience. He was not helpful on a bedding issue, though his cleaner was after we had already purchased additional bedding. That said the ‘owner’/caretaker is very friendly and otherwise polite. On a more significant level the phone number supplied as a contact was not answered at any time though the ‘owner’/operator did give the cleaner’s number and an additional number after a post I made through Booking.com. This is clearly not acceptable and is totally unprofessional.
